Gerard Latortue (born June 19, 1934 at Gonaives) was the Prime Minister of Haiti from March 12, 2004 to June 9, 2006. He was an official in the United Nations for many years, and briefly served as foreign minister of Haiti during the short-lived 1988 administration of Leslie Manigat.
Boniface Alexandre (born 31 July 1936) is a politician in Haiti.
He served as acting president of Haiti from 2004 to 2006. The 2004 Haitian rebellion was a coup d'etat removing President Jean-Bertrand Aristide from the Americas on February 29, 2004. Following this, Alexandre, as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and therefore next in the presidential line of succession, assumed the office of president
